Leading women in business while
pursuing her dream to focus on SMEs
By complementing her legal knowledge with business knowledge and a deeper understanding of the Asian business market gained through The NUS MBA, Donna was able to kickstart her post-MBA career at an advisory legal firm focusing on SMEs.
Which was the most rewarding elective, and why?
Management of Technological Innovation was most rewarding for me. The professor was excellent, and the module provided practical real-life experience. Guest speakers were knowledgeable, and the assessment in the form of a debate was a good way to learn about the different viewpoints on emerging technologies such as solar technology.
How has The NUS MBA shaped your career?
The programme has made me more sensitive to the commercial needs of businesses by deepening my understanding of the Asian business market, and ways to value add to my clients. It has also boosted my skills in managing teammates.
What is your biggest achievement so far and what are you looking to achieve next?
I was the lead counsel in a cross-border investment worth over $20m in 2019. I hope to grow the current business further, and eventually be made a partner. I also aspire to get my foot into the entertainment, media and technology industry. In the long term, I would like to pursue further studies or do some mentorship work.
