The NUS MBA Class of 2021
Job Title

Describe your personal brand.

Reliable, trustworthy and always keen to help others.

What were you doing before The NUS MBA?

I obtained a Bachelors of Business from Nanyang Technological University with a specialisation in Marketing. Right after graduation, I joined Kadence International as a market research consultant based in Singapore. At Kadence, I worked with clients across a range of projects such as brand strategy, market-entry, market growth and market strategies. This has given me exposure to a variety of sectors and markets in the APAC region.

Why did you pick NUS?

When I decided to embark on my MBA journey, I had initially aimed to achieve a 'global' education. This meant the pursuit of an MBA in a different region, and I was casting my aspirations around various continents, considering options from the US to various universities in Europe, Asia and Australia.

After a period of consideration, I eventually settled on a university at a place where I call home - The NUS MBA in Singapore. There were plenty of reasons why I eventually decided on The NUS MBA, and the top two reasons were:

Please share your key achievements and leadership roles on the programme.

What has been the single most stand-out experience of your MBA?

Instead of pointing to a single stand-out experience in my MBA journey, I would in fact look back to the simpler times where I would bump into my fellow course mates in campus, and the spontaneous and interesting conversations that we would have. That is an experience that I believe that many of my fellow classmates will have fond memories of..

Tell me something about The NUS MBA that others might not know.

The NUS MBA is part of the larger NUS organisation, and one can find all sorts of opportunities to collaborate across faculties and programmes. The onus is on you to make the most of this opportunity!

Who is your personal hero? What is it about him/her that you admire?

In my professional career, I am fortunate enough to have crossed paths with various business leaders, peers and other colleagues whom I have had the chance to learn from. Each interaction, and every challenge is an opportunity for me to improve myself. Having said that, I have my parents to thank for shaping the mindset that I have right now.

Amongst the many life advice that I had learnt over the years, one valuable advice that is at the top of my mind is to always put myself in others' shoes, and try to see things from their perspective. It is also thanks to my parents' unwavering support in my endeavours that I am where I am today.

Where do you see yourself in 5 - 10 years’ time?

I have always held the belief that businesses can create much social value while being commercially viable at the same time. Not only do I aspire to lead such a business that creates value for the community, I also hope to tap on my experience to inspire a new batch of students to achieve greater heights, and improve the lives of many more.

What advice would you give to other MBA aspirants?

Always seek to understand yourself, and what you want to get out of your MBA experience. Each and every programme has its unique offering, and no one school is a one size fit all. Hence it is critical that you go for the programme that benefits you the most.

At the same time, do not be afraid to constantly revise or change your targets as you progress in your MBA journey.
