For ShanShan Li, leadership is not about authority but influence, collaboration, and service. As a Certified Career Development Practitioner and Organizational Psychology professional, she has built a career helping individuals navigate career transitions, leadership development, and organisational change.
Now, as an Associate Program Director at WorkBC, ShanShan continues to champion workforce innovation and personal development. Yet, she recognised that she needed to deepen her strategic, leadership, and business acumen to expand her influence and impact. This led her to pursue the UCLA-NUS Executive MBA, a decision she describes as a key step in her leadership journey.
“The EMBA has reinforced that leadership is about influence rather than authority,” she says. “It has expanded my understanding of adaptive leadership, behavioral economics, and data-driven decision-making, all of which I integrate into leadership coaching and career development strategies.”

Through programs such as Doing Business in China and the UCLA Global Immersion in Berlin, she has gained valuable insights into how businesses and organisations navigate change, drive innovation, and foster global collaboration. These experiences, she says, have strengthened her ability to apply organisational psychology principles to business strategy and partnership development.
“Interacting with professionals from diverse industries has enriched my ability to bridge organisational psychology with business and leadership development,” she explains. “I’m particularly excited about creating impactful leadership programs, driving workforce innovation, and fostering global transformation.”
With a strong foundation in human behavior and organisational dynamics, she uses her EMBA experience to create solutions that enhance leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and long-term business success.

Earning two world-class MBA degrees while managing a demanding career and personal commitments required intentionality, discipline, and a strong support system.
“The past 16 months have been an incredible journey—our cohort has traveled to four countries and six cities, all while building lasting relationships and developing as leaders,” she says.
ShanShan credits mindfulness, time management, and the support of her peers for helping her successfully navigate the rigorous program. She is incredibly proud to be part of Intake 23, which includes the largest female representation in UCLA-NUS EMBA history.
“I am especially proud to be part of a cohort with 11 remarkable female leaders,” she explains. “This journey has solidified my commitment to mentorship, inclusivity, and servant leadership—principles I will continue to champion as I contribute to my community.”
