The NUS MBA Admission Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of post-bachelor’s full-time work experience (at the point of application). For part-time programme applications, non-Singaporeans/ Singapore PR candidates will need to provide proof of Singapore-based full-time employment or residency, valid at the time of application.
GMAT/GMAT Focus/GRE
  • Good GMAT/GMAT Focus/GRE scores*

*Full-time MBA applicants must submit a GMAT, GMAT Focus or GRE score, regardless of years of work experience. Part-time MBA applicants with 5 or more years of work experience can submit an Executive Assessment (EA) score instead of the GMAT/GRE.

For candidates submitting a GMAT or EA score, your integrated reasoning (IR) scores will also be taken into consideration. Score reports must be valid for at least one month from the date of application submission. Test scores from the new GMAT Focus Edition and the new GRE are acceptable.

TOEFL / IELTS

(if the medium of instruction during undergraduate or postgraduate studies was not fully in English)
Score reports have to be valid for at least one month from the point of submission.

Scholarships & Grants

Pursuing an MBA is a significant investment in your future and represents one of the most pivotal decisions you will make. To help you achieve your aspirations, we provide grants and merit-based scholarships to exceptional candidates. If you are interested in being considered for an NUS MBA scholarship, simply indicate your interest on your admissions application—there is no need to specify the type of scholarship.

Ensure that your application is complete and submitted by the respective scholarship consideration deadlines. Please note that part-time applicants must submit their test scores (GMAT/GMAT Focus, GRE, or EA) to be considered for scholarships.

The NUS MBA Excellence & Achiever Awards

These awards are available to outstanding candidates applying to the full-time MBA programme. Selection is based on academic and professional achievements, competitiveness of application, and leadership potential. The awards fund 20% or more of the tuition fees, depending on the type of award.

The NUS MBA Local Scholarship

Full-time and part-time Singaporean candidates are eligible for The NUS MBA Local Scholarships, which are awarded based on the candidates’ academic and professional achievements, competitiveness of application, and leadership potential.

The NUS MBA Scholarship for Women

The NUS MBA Scholarship for Women is for exemplary females who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing women-led causes. Applicants should possess strong academic performance and proven leadership capabilities, and have made a positive impact on business and society. Recipients will actively work with the programme team on outreach efforts to other female MBA aspirants. This scholarship is open to full-time and part-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

The NUS MBA Entrepreneurship Scholarship

This scholarship is available to outstanding candidates with entrepreneurship experience. It is available to full-time and part-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

The NUS MBA Future Leaders Scholarship

This award is available to outstanding candidates applying to the full-time MBA programme. Selection is based on academic and professional achievements, competitiveness of application, leadership potential, and strong GRE scores. The award funds 20% or more of the tuition fees, depending on the type of award.

The NUS MBA Diversity Scholarship

The NUS MBA Diversity Scholarship are for exceptional candidates from a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds and experiences, who are able to enhance the dynamics, diversity and learning experience of the MBA cohort. This scholarship is open to full-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

The NUS MBA Resilience Scholarship

This scholarship is to recognise and assist outstanding individuals who have demonstrated tremendous resilience in overcoming challenges and adversity to achieve personal and professional success. It is available to full-time MBA candidates, and covers the tuition fee partially or in full.

The NUS MBA ASEAN Scholarship

The NUS MBA ASEAN Scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time candidates who are citizens of ASEAN member countries, with the exception of Singapore. Scholarships are given based on the candidates’ academic and professional background, strength of the application, overall leadership potential and financial need.

Dhanabalan Scholarship

This Scholarship is open to talented full-time MBA candidates with a demonstrated financial need. Applicants have to be Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident, with stellar academic and professional achievements. Ability to demonstrate impact to the community will be a plus. The Scholarship has an award value of up to S$20,000, to be used towards tuition fees.

Derwin Pereira MBA Scholarship

This Scholarship is open to outstanding full-time MBA candidates from Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries. Applicants have to demonstrate strong academic credentials, leadership potential and financial need. The Scholarship has an award value of S$25,000, to be used towards tuition fees.

Lam See Chiew Memorial Scholarship in Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy

The Lam See Chiew Memorial Scholarship in Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy is open to all full- and part-time candidates of The NUS MBA and the double degree MBA programmes. Candidates are appraised based on their participation in social entrepreneurship ventures, philanthropy or non-profit sectors, or volunteer work in social-outreach organisations for a minimum of two years. To be considered for this scholarship, please submit your application by the Round 2 application deadline.

LPDP Indonesia Scholarships

The Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP), or Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education by the government of Indonesia, offers scholarships to Indonesian citizens who wish to continue their masters or doctoral studies at top universities around the world. The National University of Singapore has been recognised as one of the approved Masters destinations under Indonesia’s LDPD programme. These scholarships cover full tuition fees and related costs. The ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) – Japan Scholarship Program is funded by the Government of Japan, and awarded annually to outstanding admitted full-time MBA candidates who are citizens of borrowing member countries of the ADB. Upon completion of their studies, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and some expenses. The NUS APEC Scholarship

This scholarship, funded by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), is awarded to deserving candidates from member countries of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), who have been admitted to the full-time programme. It covers full tuition fees, plus a monthly stipend, a one-way flight allowance and book allowance. Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are not eligible. To be considered for this scholarship, please submit your application by the Round 2 application deadline.

The NUS MBA Scholarships for Latin America, Africa, North America, Europe and Middle East

These scholarships are open to outstanding candidates from these regions who demonstrate strong leadership experience and potential. It is available to full-time and part-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

Private Equity Award

This award funds MBA students on a semester-long exchange with one of our partner schools. Students planning to take up a Private Equity module during the exchange programme may apply by submitting an essay on their motivations and plans to further their career in the finance industry. Preference will be given to students with an interest in Private Equity. Only current NUS MBA students may apply.

The NUS MBA ESG Scholarship

This scholarship is available to outstanding candidates who have made great strides in the area of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). It is available to full-time and part-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

The NUS Part-Time MBA Scholarship

The NUS Part-Time MBA Scholarship is available to outstanding candidates applying to the part-time MBA programme. Selection is based on academic and professional achievements, a strong test score (GMAT, GRE, EA), competitiveness of application, and leadership potential. The awards fund around 15% of the tuition fees.

The NUS MBA Local Scholarship

Full-time and part-time Singaporean candidates are eligible for The NUS MBA Local Scholarships, which are awarded based on the candidates’ academic and professional achievements, a strong test score (GMAT, GRE, EA), competitiveness of application, and leadership potential.

The NUS MBA Scholarship for Women

The NUS MBA Scholarship for Women is for exemplary females who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing women-led causes. Lam See Chiew Memorial Scholarship in Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy

The Lam See Chiew Memorial Scholarship in Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy is open to all full- and part-time candidates of The NUS MBA and the double degree MBA programmes. NUS Staff Concession

Full-time staff of NUS, NUS High School and National University Health System with a minimum of 12 months of continuous employment at the time of application may apply for the NUS Staff Concession, which offers a 20% deduction of the total part-time MBA tuition fee (excludes acceptance fees). Students who receive a scholarship (excluding grants) do not qualify for the concession. The concession is directly deducted from the student’s tuition fee for as long as the student remains a staff of NUS.

The NUS MBA ESG Scholarship

This scholarship is available to outstanding candidates who have made great strides in the area of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). It is available to full-time and part-time MBA candidates, and partially covers the tuition fee.

The NUS Alumni Loyalty Grant

A one-time grant of S$10,000 is awarded to deserving NUS alumni who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at NUS. Applicants are considered for a grant review upon acceptance into the programme. The grant is limited to offset tuition fees and cannot be used to offset other costs, such acceptance fees, mandatory miscellaneous fees and other study-related expenses.

The NUS MBA Local University Alumni Grant

A one-time grant of S$5,000 is awarded to alumni who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate degree from the following local universities: Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), or Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Applicants are considered for a grant review upon acceptance into the programme. The grant is limited to offset tuition fees and cannot be used to offset other costs, such acceptance fees, mandatory miscellaneous fees and other study-related expenses.

The NUS MBA Experiential Learning Grant

This grant helps fund the expenses of full-time or part-time students who wish to pursue experiential learning opportunities while on the programme, which may include but are not limited to participation in international study trips, case competitions, conferences, MBA Consulting Projects (for costs not covered by the corporate partner). Funds are disbursed on a reimbursement basis, up to a total of S$5,000 per student over the duration of the programme. Only candidates who are successfully admitted to the programme will be eligible to apply for this grant (excluding NUS PhD-MBA and double degree programmes).​

SkillsFuture Credit

Introduced in 2015, all Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500. SkillsFuture Credit aims to encourage individual ownership of skills development and learning journey. For Indian students who are admitted to NUS Business School and looking for an education loan. Loans are offered to Indian nationals on FundRight by banks, NBFCs, and international lenders. NUS Business School does not charge any fee from students or GradRight for this service. Established with donations from Ernst & Young, the prize is awarded to the best performing graduate in the course “Financial Management”, and who has also performed well in the overall MBA exams. More information here.

NUS Business School Mandarin Alumni Gold Medal

Established with donations/funds from the NUS Business School Mandarin Alumni, the medal is awarded to the best student of the NUS-Peking University’s International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) Double Degree Programme, based on GPA score.

 

Marketing Institute of Singapore Prize

Donated by the Marketing Institute of Singapore, a cash prize will be awarded to the best MBA graduate in Marketing specialization who has also performed well in the overall exams. More information here.

 

Outstanding Graduating Student Award

Supported by Prof Veronica Eng, the award aims to encourage academic excellence and recognise the achievements of an outstanding student in the graduating cohort who demonstrates strong academic performance as well as strong leadership, active student life, good moral character and conduct, and makes positive contribution to the cohort. This award is only applicable for full-time MBA students.

 

Panasonic Prize

Donated in 1997 by Panasonic Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (then known as Asia Matsushita Electric (S) Pte Ltd), the Panasonic Prize is awarded to the best student in Asia Markets and Marketing Management, who must have also performed well in the overall MBA exams. More information here.

 

Reginald Quahe Memorial Medal (Gold)

The Reginald Quahe Memorial Fund was established in 1977 from donations received from the former University of Singapore Academic Staff Union and from former colleagues and friends of the late Mr Reginald Quahe in commemoration of his service to the former University of Singapore as Bursar and Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Proceeds of the capital sum are used for the award of bursaries and two gold medals – one of which is awarded to the best graduate in the MBA examinations based on his/her GPA. Saw Gold Medal in Finance

Donated in 1993 by Dr Saw Swee Hock, the gold medal is awarded to the best MBA student graduate in Finance & Banking specialization, who has also performed well in the overall exams. More information here.

 

The NUS MBA Alumni Leadership Award

Co-sponsored by the MBA Alumni-NUS and the NUS Business School, the award aims to recognise the student who exhibited the best leadership potential in NUS Business School, NUS or the community at large.

 

The NUS MBA Paul Yap Outstanding Contributor Award

Created in memory of Paul Yap, the award seeks to recognise the student who has made the most impactful and outstanding contribution – in the form of funds raised for charity – or demonstrated social leadership in NUS Business School, NUS or the community at large. The award is made possible by co-sponsorships by the MBA Alumni-NUS and the NUS Business School.

 

The MBA Alumni-NUS Community Service Award

Sponsored by the MBA Alumni-NUS, the award aims to recognise the student who has made the more impactful and outstanding service in the form of volunteer work, social service or mentorship in NUS Business School, NUS or the community at large.

 

The NUS MBA Private Equity Award for Student Exchanges

Supported by NUS Business School Department of Marketing, this prize is awarded to graduate students who excel in the core Marketing course in the Academic Year.

Supported by NUS Business School Department of Marketing, this prize is awarded to Marketing graduates who exhibit good performance in the Marketing electives in the Academic Year.

The NUS MBA programme accepts applications on a rolling basis during the application cycle. Candidates must meet the admissions requirement to be considered for the programme.

Stage 1: Starting and Filling in Your Application
Once your password is set, search for The NUS MBA by selecting the following options:
  • Degree type: Master’s by Coursework
  • Preferred commitment: Full-Time or Part-Time
  • When to enroll: August 2025
A table of programmes will be displayed. Narrow down the results by specifying “Master of Business Administration” under the “Filter by Programmes” field.
  • Regular MBA Applicants (full-time and part-time): Select “Master of Business Administration”. If you are not intending to specialise in Real Estate or Healthcare Management, click on “Apply Now” under “Masters of Business Administration” in the “Programme without Specialisation” category.
  • Double Degree Programme (DDP) Applicants: You are required to submit separate applications to both NUS and the partner university. In your NUS MBA application, select your respective DDP, e.g. “Master of Business Administration (HEC Paris Double Degree Programme)” and not “Master of Business Administration”.
Once your application is created, proceed to fill in the sections.
Stage 2: Submitting Stage 1, Essays, Scholarship Declaration and Application Fee
Before submitting, ensure all mandatory fields and required documents are complete. Incomplete sections will be highlighted in red. Ensure all information is accurate, as you cannot make changes after submission. You may choose to complete optional sections, highlighted in orange, if relevant to your application. Proceed to submit your application when all mandatory fields are completed.
After submission, you’ll be directed to a page with an application checklist and a link to the mandatory admission essays in the “Supplementary Material and Essay” Section. Complete all three essays, and indicate your intent for scholarship consideration*. You can also upload any remaining supporting documents on this page that weren’t provided in Stage 1.
Once all essays and documents are uploaded, proceed to pay the application fee of SGD100 via credit card or Pay Now. Do always refer to the checklist to make sure all items marked with a ‘Red Cross’ have been attended to. Incomplete applications and those without application fee will not be processed.

Stage 3: Video Assessment (NEW)

After completing Stage 2, you’ll receive an email invitation from no-reply@myvideointerviewau.com to complete a video assessment. The email will be sent within 1 – 3 working days after we verify your application. This video assessment is in addition to, not a replacement for, the actual live admissions interview.

You'll have access to a practice recording, after which you will be required to answer one interview question. For the interview question, you can make two attempts with a 2-minute prep time and up to 3 minutes for each recording. The assessment must be completed in one sitting and will take approximately 10 minutes. Please complete the video assessment within 7 days of the email invitation. Completion of the video assessment is required to move forward in the admissions process.

Stage 4: Live Admissions Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a 30-minute online interview within two to four weeks of submitting the video assessment. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Stage 5: Application Outcome

Successful candidates will be notified of the final decision via email approximately two weeks after the live interview. To accept the offer, follow the instructions in the admission offer letter and complete the acceptance fee payment of SGD10,900 (inclusive of GST) by the specified deadline.

*Notes on Scholarships:
  • Applicants must indicate their intent to be considered for a scholarship by checking the relevant box. Outstanding applicants who do so will automatically be considered for one. No separate application is needed.

  • Ensure your application is submitted by the scholarship deadline.

  • Scholarship decisions may be announced separately from admission decisions. Only successful candidates will be notified.

  • Scholarship decisions are final.
