NUS grads eligible to work in the UK under ‘High Potential Individual’ visa

NUS graduates are eligible to apply to go to the UK under the “High Potential Individual” visa scheme that was announced in May 2022, according to an article in The Straits Times.

The scheme seeks to attract “the best and the brightest” at the beginning of their careers, regardless of where they were born, and are open to those who have graduated no later than five years prior to the date of their application.

They do not need a job offer in order to apply, and dependants are also allowed to accompany them.

Successful applicants will either be awarded a two-year work visa if they hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or three years if they hold a PhD.

They may also then switch to other long-term employment visas if they meet the eligibility requirements.
