A lifelong learner seeking balance in life

What were you doing before The NUS MBA?

I studied in Korea, China, and the UK where I obtained an undergraduate degree in History. After finishing military service as a first lieutenant in the airforce, I started my career at Hana Bank in Korea. My most recent role, to which I returned following the NUS MBA, was as an IR manager at Hana Financial Group's holding company.

Please share your key achievements and leadership roles on the programme.

Since I had a non-finance academic background, the NUS MBA was a great opportunity for me to do a deep dive into the realm of finance. When I recall my days at NUS, I enjoyed studying with great fellow students and NUS professors who provided plentiful inspiration and motivation. I feel very lucky and honored to receive this reward!

What has been the single most stand-out experience of your MBA?

I loved everything about my life at the NUS MBA, but if I have to choose one, it has got to be exceptional core modules. My favorite modules, such as managerial economics, constantly offered intellectual stimuli while providing opportunities to reflect upon real-life examples using the frameworks learned during the classes.

What advice would you give to other MBA aspirants?

Be brave, be ambitious, and be generous! These attitudes will make your MBA experience richer and more meaningful.
