Describe your personal brand.

A strategy generalist passionate about solving problems out in the public. At any given time when I look at a pressing issue - say climate change, I take a step back and look at the broader system, and I figure out how I can work with others to make a positive difference.

What were you doing before The NUS MBA?

Prior to the MBA I worked in the infrastructure space in New Zealand and Singapore, primarily focused on bringing on energy and transport projects to life. My previous work involved a lot of travelling, knowledge sharing, stakeholder influencing, and collaboration with lots of different groups to solve sticky business and policy problems.

That also meant many holidays abroad when I had spare time and lots of catch ups with friends and family all over the place!

Please share your key achievements and leadership roles on the programme.

My most memorable highlights in New Zealand include advising the Crown's economic response during the critical moments in COVID-19, and personally advising the Prime Minister and her Cabinet on investing in billion-dollar transport projects in the subsequent years when the economy recovered.

Be it high-level meetings, written papers, panel discussions or speaking to the layman, over the years I've learned to appreciate the craft of educating and advising different stakeholders. Properly marketing my messages to the audience of the day became almost instinctual in my everyday work.

What has been the single most stand-out experience of your MBA?

I particularly enjoyed the end-of-semester celebrations where current students and alumni get together to share happy memories. There are also a lot of impromptu events entirely organised by the student community, be it for knowledge sharing or just for people to know each other better.

What advice would you give to other MBA aspirants?

Try new things, give your all and have fun in the process - you never know what pops up!
