Finances

Information related to finances for students.

Most students rely on a combination of different types of financial means to cover tuition fees and living expenses. These options typically include personal savings, family support, graduate student loans*, scholarships, and for some students, company sponsorships. You may also take a look at some of the alternative financing options available here.

*For non-residents of Singapore, please explore loan options in your home country, as student loans in Singapore are generally applicable for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents.

Tuition fees & payment schedule

The NUS MBA tuition fee is S$99,953 (inclusive of GST).  The financial commitment to an MBA is great, and to help ease that, we have arranged for payment of fees to be spread over several instalments. You will receive your tuition bill in your EduRec account in the respective first month of the start of each semester (where applicable). Payment instructions and deadlines can be found here.

Miscellaneous Student Fee

Miscellaneous student fees help meet costs incurred by the University in providing services to the student community that are either not covered or only partially covered by the tuition fee. These services include healthcare for students; facilitating student cultural, social and recreational programmes; and maintaining the shuttle bus service, IT network and other essential campus infrastructure and services.

All students, whether registered on a full-time or part-time basis, are charged the miscellaneous student fee at the start of every semester, for each semester the student remains on the programme.

Scholarships

While we have attractive merit scholarships to help you cope with some of your MBA expenses, do note that not every student will qualify for an award. Scholarship decisions are announced separately from admission decisions (with the latest by mid-May 2026 for full-time MBA candidates, and mid-June 2026 for part-time). As most scholarship awards are partial (in general, they cover about 15% of tuition on average), it is strongly recommended that you have made adequate arrangements for your MBA expenses without the possibility of a scholarship, and the scholarship award will be an advantage. Scholarships are awarded during the admission process, and do be informed that there will not be any scholarship awarded during the programme.

SkillsFuture Credit

SkillsFuture Credits are provided by the Singapore government to encourage lifelong learning and skills development among Singaporeans. Eligible Singaporean students may use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset a portion of their MBA tuition fees. Please refer to this guide for detailed instructions on how to submit your SkillsFuture Credit claim.

Important: SkillsFuture Credits can only be used to offset tuition fees and cannot be applied towards late fees, miscellaneous student fees, or administrative charges. Students must submit their SkillsFuture Credit claim and receive approval before making payment for their tuition bill

Loans

Note that we do not offer loan arrangements with banks, so please reach out to your local bank in your home country if you are planning to take up a study loan.

Living Expenses & Ad-hoc Costs Guide

Accommodation:

  • On-campus housing: NUS offers three on-campus housing options, including UTR Twin-Sharing Apartments, UTR Studio Apartments and Kent Vale Residences. The cost ranges from $1100 to $3000 per month for on-campus apartments.
  • Off-campus housing: Many students opt for off-campus housing options like condominiums or shared rentals. The rent for these can range from $2000 to $3500 monthly. MBA students who are planning to bring their family (with children) will have to look for off-campus housing options.

Other Monthly Expenses:

  • Utilities: Budget between $100 and $200 per month for utilities like electricity, water, internet, etc.
  • Living Expenses: Groceries can cost anywhere from $600 to $1000 monthly, depending on your lifestyle.
  • Food: Budget between $600 to $1200 monthly for food. Eating out regularly can significantly increase your expenses. Consider budgeting for groceries and cooking meals to save money.
  • Transportation: Monthly transportation cost ranges from under $100 to $800, depending on factors like commuting distance, transportation type, and frequency of travel.

Other Expenses: Factor in additional costs like entertainment, personal care items, additional insurance (if necessary) and mobile phone plans. Students who are planning to enrol their children in pre-schools locally will also have to budget between $1300-$2700 monthly.
